Hey There!
I recently graduated from the University of Hartford with a Bachelor of Art in Cinema with a focus in production. My passions first started in drawing, painting, and photography however, as I transitioned into college I found my calling in digital media. During my time at Uhart, I have been heavily involved in The Student Television Network (STN2). During my freshmen and sophomore years I took on associate level positions and for my junior and senior years I was elected General Manager. When I am not at school, I am working at Yale as a freelancer in media broadcasting for their athletics department.
About Me
At my core I have always been an artist. I found art was a way to make my ideas for characters, settings, and stories more tangible. While it was my original plan to major in illustration in college, I found my calling in cinema. However, this hadn't stopped my art making journey. In 2024 I took a chance on the University of Hartford's literary magazine, Aerie, and submitted some of my pieces to be looked over and possibly featured. To my surprise, my digital piece, Ghostie, was selected to be on the cover of the magazine. This was a huge honor and joy to have my art be seen by so many people and to know the positive effect it had on the community.
To this day I still love to draw and paint for both my self and for film planning.
In 2023 I found my love for travel! In April, I was selected to attend the Nation Association of Broadcasters Conference (NAB) in Las Vegas. This trip exposed me to an extravagant environment much different from my small-town origins in Ellington, CT. I was surprised how the dry the climate was and how the city functioned in the middle of the desert. But, most importantly, I got the opportunity to learn about up and coming cinema and broadcast upgrades. Here, I attended work shops focusing on editing in Davinci Resolve, work flow, and creator discussions. Amongst my favorites was a panel discussing the advancements made in the cameras used for Top Gun: Maverick. I was also able to test out the latest Blackmagic, Panasonic, and ARRI cameras.
This was an unforgettable experience that brought me closer than ever to the industry I plan to call home. This was all around an amazing trip that I hope to have again!
In May of 2023 I was back on the plane again, only this time for a study abroad trip to Italy. This trip lasted nine days. During our stay we started in Florence and ended in Rome. The main focus was to experience the culture, art, and architecture of a different country. Every day we were exploring monuments, such as the Trevi Fountain, observing sculptures, and walking over 20,000 steps a day! Amongst my favorite pieces of art I saw was the Statue of David. Because of the forced perspective of viewing the 17 ft sculpture from the ground, his head is the same size as his feet in order for the proportions to look correct.
One of my favorite moments from this trip was our final day abroad. The last day was a dedicated free day with no tours scheduled. My friends and I decided we wanted to visit the coast, but, this would involve navigating the Italian train systems by ourselves. Despite the language barrier, one train and one taxi later, we were at the beaches of Fregene.
This trip taught me so much about the world outside of the United States and it has inspired me to travel more whenever possible.
In May of 2024, STN2 was invited to do press for the premiere of Hell's Kitchen season 23! Our team traveled to Fox Woods Casino to help kick off the new season. During this event we were able to record excusive behind the scenes footage of the contestants and Gordon Ramsey himself. We also made it into two of the episodes briefly as press coverage as well.
What fascinated me the most was being able to see all of the behind the scenes set up that went into creating this production. It was a change of pace from the traditional news broadcasts STN2 does.
